summer love

It has been a busy summer, as they all seem to become. This year has brought new challenges and excitement. Both of those words start to explain the world of a walking little man. Let's call him Mr. Man.

Mr. Man started taking some steps a couple weeks before his first birthday, but those always ended in a lunge towards mom, dad, or anything that looked stable enough to hold him. I was sure that he would stroll across the kitchen floor by his first birthday. Birthday came and went. A couple of weeks after his first birthday, Jackson started putting one foot in front of another. 1 month later (today), Jackson thinks he is Usain Bolt. He is trying to run everywhere.

The time between then and now seems like a blink of an eye, but our son has turned into a blossoming, running, energetic butterfly overnight. He use to be busy, now he is in overdrive. My parents always told me that I was a disaster waiting to happen. I now know the true definition of disaster. There is not a single drawer in the house that does not have Jackson's stamp of approval on it. We don't even bother to line up our shoes any more.

He is starting to form some words. Dog, Maggie, done(which could be dog). Mama and Dada he has conquered.

His social skills have been the most fun to watch develop. His teachers at Alameda tell us that he is loves to interact with the other kids, but he also does not mind figuring out a puzzle on his own. He even pushed himself on a cart the other day, in circles, for 5 minutes. No one around, just enjoying the day.

If you have not had the pleasure of enjoying a meal with my son, it should be in your top 10 list of things to do before the end of the year. Jackson thinks every piece of food is his last and he lets you know how much he enjoys it. He even has started taking the responsibility of carrying his lunchbox for us in the morning. When he reaches his classroom, he promptly walks his lunch box over to the kitchen so that it can be stored in the refrigerator. He knows that it is important to not spoil good food.

In other big news, my wife has joined me at Premier Press. We are going on 3 months or so of this new union. It has been a little bit trying for us to get in full gear. The first month involved a few conversations about how to communicate best with each other. Now, we are clicking. She is doing an amazing job and our clients very much appreciate her, but not as much as me. We have a great job and I am thankful we get to share that with each other.

We went to Napa for a family wedding, which was a blast. We are trying to conceive a trip without Jackson, but he is just so much fun to hang out with.

All is well, and changing. We are learning as we go and we have hit a few stumbling blocks. I have felt tired and frustrated at times. THANKFULLY, I have an amazing wife. Our house is full of love and care. We are never afraid to confront, but we always make sure we take care of each other. We also have a pretty cool son, Mr. Man.

Hope all is well with you and your families,
love

forever changing

It is funny how fast this first year has gone. It makes more and more sense how people constantly look back and amazed at what they have missed in life. Jackson brings a whole new element to this formula.

He is growing so quick, which is more fun than anything. But the music in this Ipod has not been paused to take in as much as i would have hoped. It is a race to get home, to see him for 30 minutes. Those minutes are oh so precious.

I have been tagged, bath man. It use to be a blast. Now Jackson has decided that his 26 lb chubby body is scared of the waterfall(faucet) and sharks(rubber ducky). Yet, even while he is balling, i still enjoy every minute. As soon as i lift him from the scary wet porcelain, he is at peace and hugging his dad.

I am forever thankful for my son and my wife. I have been very blessed. Hope to talk to you soon.

Crawling.

You have to watch the whole video; it'll make you smile.

Long time no see.

Man, it's been a long time since we've posted. Sorry to any of you who actually follow the blog. Time goes by fast. Jackson now has six teeth. He is cruising along anything he can get his hands, even walls. He has taken a step towards me a couple of times, but doesn't have the balance to stay up. As soon as he pushes himself off the furniture he falls. He wants to walk, but just isn't there yet. Even though he is only a little over eight months, I feel that he is looking less like a baby and more like a toddler. He is a very sweet busy boy.

This last weekend we packed up the family and headed to our favorite weekend getaway, Cannon Beach. It was absolutely gorgeous weather. I don't know how we do it, but the past few weekends we have gone there the weather has been amazing. Here are some photos of the weekend.

Happy New Year!

2010 is here already. The last six months have been the most trying yet rewarding months in my life. I can't believe my little buddy is already six months. Although I didn't think that I could fall in love anymore than I already am with him, I cease to surprise myself, everyday I fall a little harder. He now has two teeth and is starting to eat some solids. So far he pretty much loves everything that has touched his tongue. Let's just say he isn't picky nor is he starving. He talks to us like we can understand him and smiles so much that his cheek muscles most be sore.

Christmas was great. Jackson was spoiled, although his favorite gift was wrapping paper, and Eric and I got to spend some much needed time together. Oh yeah, and Maggie got a bath.

Here is a silly picture of Jackson. I will post some Christmas pics in a couple of days.

Baby it's cold outside!

With temperatures in the 20's, Jackson had to get a little bundled up to head outdoors. Hope you are all staying warm.
